The Department of Migrant Workers has reminded Filipinos traveling to Australia to strictly follow visa conditions and use the correct visa category for their intended purpose.
The agency warned that the Australian Visitor visa is only meant for short-term tourism, business, or family visits, and should not be used for employment or long-term stays.
Officials said misuse of visas could result in serious consequences, including visa cancellation, deportation, and restrictions on future travel.
The advisory was issued in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney to ensure proper guidance for Filipino travelers.
The DMW urged Filipinos planning to work abroad to secure appropriate work visas and comply with host country requirements to ensure safe and legal migration.
