MANILA — The Philippine National Police is getting a fresh shake-up! Six senior officers are moving into new key positions following a major reorganization ordered by PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
In a directive signed on March 7, the PNP chief tapped experienced leaders to fill critical roles across the organization.
Leading the changes is Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes, former chief of Police Regional Office 1 (Ilocos), who has been named Acting Director of the Directorate for Comptrollership. He steps into the shoes of Maj. Gen. Westrimundo Obinque, who will retire on May 9 upon reaching the mandatory age of 56. In his new post, Reyes will be in charge of managing the PNP’s finances and resources — basically becoming the top money manager of the entire police force.

The reshuffle continues as follows:
Brig. Gen. Jovencio Badua, director of PRO-4B (Mimaropa), will now take over as head of PRO-1 in Ilocos.
Brig. Gen. Christopher dela Cruz, chief of the Northern Police District (NPD), moves to lead PRO-4B in Mimaropa.
Brig. Gen. Benliner Capili, former Deputy Director of the Directorate for Education and Training (DET), is now assigned as chief of the Northern Police District.
Brig. Gen. Arnold Ibay, head of PRO-Negros Island Region (NIR), takes over Capili’s old position at the Directorate for Education and Training.
Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño was designated as the new acting director of PRO-Negros Island Region.
The reshuffle takes effect this Friday.
This latest revamp aims to refresh leadership across several key police units as the PNP continues to strengthen its command structure.
