The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran and called for full compliance with its provisions to help secure peace and stability in the region.
In a statement on Monday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law following the announcement of a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.
The ministry said full implementation of the agreement would help ensure an immediate and comprehensive halt to hostilities across the region.
It also emphasized respect for the sovereignty of states, adherence to the principles of good neighborliness, and compliance with international law.
The UAE highlighted the importance of safeguarding maritime routes and ensuring freedom of navigation, including the uninterrupted flow of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the ministry, maintaining safe and open sea lanes is critical to regional security, global stability, and economic prosperity.
The UAE also commended the diplomatic efforts led by U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as the contributions of countries and parties involved in facilitating the agreement.
The ministry called for continued negotiations to build on the progress achieved and secure sustainable outcomes, reaffirming the UAE’s support for diplomatic solutions to regional and international crises.
The statement comes after the United States and Iran announced a breakthrough agreement aimed at ending months of conflict and easing tensions across the Middle East.
