The Ministry of Education has announced that the 2026–2027 academic year in the UAE will officially begin on August 31, 2026.
Under the academic calendar released by the ministry, the school year will end on July 2, 2027.
Winter break is scheduled from December 14, 2026 to January 1, 2027, while spring break will run from April 5 to April 9, 2027.
The ministry said the calendar is intended to provide a structured framework for public schools and private schools implementing the national curriculum.
Officials said the schedule aims to balance academic periods and holidays while helping schools, students, and parents prepare for the upcoming school year.
The calendar applies to all public schools and private institutions following the ministry curriculum, although local education authorities may allow flexibility for schools using other international curricula.
Authorities also said private schools outside the national curriculum system may divide their mid-term break across October and February, provided the total break does not exceed five school days.
The ministry added that the early announcement is designed to help families plan ahead and ensure a smooth opening of classes across the UAE.
