NEWS UPDATE: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Visayas grid on yellow alert today, June 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Forced outages at 29 power plants and derated operations at 16 other facilities removed a total of 975 megawatts from the transmission system.
The grid maintains an available capacity of 2,559 megawatts against a peak demand of 2,320 megawatts due to the ongoing shutdown of large regional coal plants TVI 1, TVI 2, and PEDC 3. | via Elijah Canlas
