PASIG CITY — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. went on the ground Monday to personally check the rollout of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’s (PhilHealth) expanded benefits, underscoring his administration’s drive to slash out-of-pocket medical expenses for ordinary Filipinos.
The President visited The Medical City in Ortigas, Pasig City, where he observed firsthand how the upgraded PhilHealth coverage is being implemented in one of the country’s leading private hospitals.

“We continue to expand access to affordable and quality healthcare for every Filipino,” Marcos said. “Today, I visited The Medical City to see how expanded PhilHealth benefits are helping more Filipinos receive treatment with little to no out-of-pocket expense.”

He added that stronger partnerships between PhilHealth and private hospitals are now making world-class medical care accessible to more citizens without the fear of crippling hospital bills.
Marcos later shared photos of his visit on social media, highlighting the initiative as a key step toward transforming the country’s healthcare system.
The on-site inspection signals the administration’s serious commitment to turning PhilHealth reforms into tangible relief for patients across the nation.
