A leading Chinese technological university is opening its doors to Filipino educators as part of a new initiative aimed at strengthening Philippines-China ties, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) said.
Ningbo University of Technology (NingboTech), based in China’s Zhejiang Province, is preparing to hire Filipino teachers for its newly launched Philippine Studies Center following a recent visit by FFCCCII representatives and Manila-based media.
“This institution is soon opening its doors to Filipino teachers as a gesture to promote the good relationship of the two countries being friendly neighbors,” George Chua-Cham, FFCCCII chairman for government affairs, said during the launch.
The university also plans to offer internship opportunities for Filipino students. Ningbotech currently hosts international trainees from countries such as Morocco and Pakistan.
“We would be even more proud to welcome Filipinos who will study and train here,” said International College Deputy Dean Cheng Meng.
Ningbotech currently offers a range of degree programs with English-medium instruction, including International Economics and Trade, Clinical Medicine, Computer Science and Technology, and Software Engineering.
University officials are finalizing the recruitment framework, including specific qualifications and compensation packages for Filipino applicants, while exploring partnerships with Philippine higher education institutions to support the proposed internship programs.
