18th April 2026 – (Hong Kong) A 39‑year‑old Filipino domestic helper has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse after a 15‑month‑old boy was allegedly subjected to inappropriate treatment at a residence in North Point.
Police received a report from the child’s mother at around 4.40pm on 18 April, claiming her son may have been mistreated inside their flat at Le Sommet on Fortress Hill Road. Officers attended the scene and, following preliminary enquiries, detained the helper on suspicion of ill‑treating or neglecting a child under her care. She is currently being held for further investigation.
The infant, who was conscious and showed no visible external injuries, was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital for examination. It is understood the boy is suspected to have fallen from a bed, although the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigatio
