Ateneo Midgets D secure double podium at 2026 Philippine Cup | News

The Ateneo de Manila Grade School Midgets D football varsity delivered a standout performance at the Philippine Cup held in Clark, Pampanga, last 20-21 February 2026. Fielded as two separate squads- Blue and White- to maximize competitive experience, our young booters showcased both their technical growth and the Magis spirit that defines the Blue Eagles.

Both teams navigated a highly competitive field to secure impressive podium finishes:

Ateneo Midgets D Blue earned 1st Runner-Up in the elite Division 1 knockout stages with players are Matteo Bartolome (5-Yakan), Jaime Gabasa (5-Subanon), Jace Go (5-Ati), Latif Moti (5-Subanon), Jericho Quierrez (5-Dumagat), Dustin Ramos (5-T’boli), Thomas Tan (4-Lapu-Lapu), and Matti Verzosa (Maguindanao).  

Ateneo de Manila White secured 2nd Runner-Up in the Division 2 championship round, with players Marcus Bonto (5-Bagobo), Sid Leal (4-Maniago), Jacob Monsanto (5-Ati), Felipe Montemayor (4- Marikudo), Ethan San Diego (5-Manobo), Edward Superable (5-Maranaw), Luke Tadeo (5-Bagobo), and Patrick Tiotuyco (5-Subanon). 

These twin podium finishes underscore the depth of the Ateneo football program and the bright path ahead for our 2015-born champions.

Coached by Paul Madrona and Rafael Cruz, the team showed incredible tenacity, synergy, and blue-and-white fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
