101 Filipinos return from UAE under voluntary repatriation program

by Philippine Chronicle

A total of 101 Filipinos have safely returned to the Philippines from the United Arab Emirates under the government’s voluntary repatriation program.

The group included 80 overseas Filipino workers and 21 dependents, who arrived on April 18 amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Upon arrival, the returnees were assisted by personnel from the Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and Department of Social Welfare and Development to ensure immediate support and services.

Authorities provided aid such as financial assistance, temporary shelter, and transportation, as part of efforts to ease the transition of returning Filipinos.

The government said coordination among agencies remains ongoing to strengthen repatriation efforts and safeguard the welfare of overseas Filipino workers affected by the crisis in the region.
