Oaklands Care Home in Bottisham hosted a joyful celebration for Pilipino International Day, filling the home with music, dance and traditional cuisine.

A highlight of the event was an Igorot cultural performance, alongside residents, staff, and visitors learning about the heritage of Baguio through music, dance and conversation.

An array of national dishes was served while staff dressed in traditional clothing, sang the national anthem and shared stories about their native country.

Cristina Monville, general manager at Oaklands Care Home, said: “It was a wonderful day for our residents and their families.

“The effort from our staff and their families was incredible, and it really showed how much joy can be created when we come together to celebrate different cultures.

“We’re already looking forward to the next event.

“I was especially honoured to share a live performance from my brother all the way from the Philippines as he played traditional songs via the saxophone.”
