WATCH: Philippine Navy frigate BRP Diego Silang conducted a routine maritime patrol in the vicinity of Scarborough Shoal or Bajo de Masinloc, during which it also launched an AW109 helicopter. No vessels were observed inside the lagoon during the patrol on Friday, June 19, except for a Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy warship spotted in the area. The Philippine Navy assets were deployed to assert the rights and sovereignty of the Philippines in Scarborough Shoal amid the reported floating platform that has since been removed.
