The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the National Reintegration Network (NRN) has provided 28,361 services to 5,769 former and recently repatriated overseas Filipino workers as part of the government’s reintegration efforts.

Based on data as of June 8, the beneficiaries included 5,013 former OFWs and 756 recently repatriated migrant workers.

One of the program’s primary objectives is to help returning OFWs secure employment opportunities in the Philippines.

The DMW said 2,467 beneficiaries received job facilitation assistance through the participation of 226 local companies and 104 private recruitment and manning agencies.

The program also distributed P13.76 million in financial assistance to beneficiaries seeking to establish their own livelihood projects.

Under the government’s welfare component, 690 recently repatriated OFWs received psychosocial and welfare support through post-repatriation orientation seminars.

As of May 31, the DMW also coordinated local job referrals through partner government agencies, including 1,805 referrals through the Department of Labor and Employment, 656 through the Department of Tourism, 383 through the Department of Health, 151 through the Department of Public Works and Highways, and 18 through the Department of Education.

The agency said 837 training vouchers and scholarship opportunities were likewise distributed, while 1,605 domestic workers were profiled and endorsed for skills training in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

The DMW said the initiative forms part of the Marcos administration’s directive to provide comprehensive support for returning OFWs through employment, livelihood, training, and welfare programs as they rebuild their lives in the country.
