by Philippine Chronicle

Jordan Clarkson helped lead the New York Knicks to the championship and made NBA history in the process.

The guard became the first player of Filipino descent to take home an NBA title after the Knicks put the finishing touches on their five-game victory over the San Antonio Spurs:

Clarkson has played for the Philippines National Team and notably averaged 24.0 points, 6.7 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in an impressive performance in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

He had more of a secondary role for the Knicks, although he scored 10 points in Game 3 against the Spurs.

In all, he appeared in 72 regular-season games and 18 postseason games for the Knicks in 2025-26. He averaged 8.6 points per game during the regular season and will forever have a part in NBA history thanks to Saturday’s win.
