A 66-year-old Filipino-Canadian citizen was arrested by police upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Tuesday, May 6, 2026 from Vancouver, Canada for two criminal cases.

PNP-Aviation Security Group (PNP-Avsegroup) said the operation was conducted through coordinated efforts with the Bureau of Immigration together with the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (PPO) and San Leonardo Municipal Police Station (MPS) following information that the arriving passenger had existing warrants of arrest.

Police said the suspect is a resident of Nueva Ecija and was escorted to NPS 1 for the joint service of the warrants of arrest.

Authorities subsequently served two non-bailable warrants of arrest issued on September 25, 2023, by the Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region of Angeles City, Pampanga.

The accused was informed of the nature of his offenses and apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood.

Police said that the arrest was documented using an Alternative Recording Device (ARD) in accordance with standard procedures. The suspect was thereafter turned over to the custody of the Nueva Ecija PPO for proper disposition. | via Rudy Santos
