DMW opens applications for $200 aid to OFWs in Dubai, Northern Emirates

by Philippine Chronicle

The Department of Migrant Workers, through the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai, has opened applications for one-time financial assistance for overseas Filipino workers affected by the Middle East crisis.

Qualified OFWs may receive USD200 (around ₱12,000 or AED730) if their employment has been disrupted due to the ongoing conflict.

The program covers land-based OFWs currently in Dubai and the Northern Emirates with valid employment visas or Emirates IDs.

Applicants must submit a request form, passport copy, proof of overseas employment, and documentation showing loss of income or work disruption. Authorities said self-declaration and certifications from Filipino community organizations may also be accepted.

Applications are processed online only and will open twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, with around 820 slots per batch on a first-come, first-served basis.

Approved applicants may claim the assistance through Al Ansari remittance centers across the UAE.

Officials urged OFWs to complete requirements properly, noting that incomplete submissions may lead to disapproval.
