A total of 191 overseas Filipino workers have safely returned to the Philippines from Kuwait as the government continues its repatriation efforts amid ongoing tensions in the region.
The returnees arrived on April 28 via a commercial flight and were assisted upon arrival by the Department of Migrant Workers and other government agencies.
They received financial aid, medical assistance, temporary shelter, and transportation support to ensure their safe return to their home provinces.
Officials said that from March 5 to April 28, more than 7,900 OFWs and their dependents have been repatriated under the government’s ongoing program.
Returning workers are also being supported through reintegration programs under the National Reintegration Network, involving multiple agencies including Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
These programs offer job matching, livelihood assistance, skills training, medical support, and psychosocial services to help OFWs rebuild their lives.
Authorities said the government remains committed to ensuring the safety, welfare, and reintegration of Filipinos affected by the crisis abroad.
