Arab Parliament condemns continued attacks despite Iran ceasefire

by Philippine Chronicle

The Arab Parliament has condemned continued attacks on Gulf states, saying strikes involving missiles and drones persisted despite a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi described the attacks as an unacceptable hostile approach and called on Iran to fully adhere to the terms of the agreement.

He also expressed hope that the ceasefire would lead to a lasting deal that restores stability in the region, while emphasizing that Gulf states must be included in any future security arrangements.

Officials stressed the importance of safeguarding international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any threat to the strategic waterway poses risks not only to the region but to global energy security and economic stability.

The statement reflects growing concern among regional leaders over continued tensions despite diplomatic efforts.
