Over 2.4 million Filipinos in Middle East amid ongoing conflict

by Philippine Chronicle

More than 2.4 million Filipinos are currently residing in the Middle East as the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran continues to escalate.

Data shows the largest Filipino communities are in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, placing millions at potential risk as tensions persist across the region.

The conflict, which began in late February, has already resulted in thousands of deaths, including a Filipina caregiver killed in an airstrike in Israel.

Repatriation efforts remain ongoing, with hundreds of Filipinos already brought home through government-led flights and border crossings.

Officials said more Filipinos are expected to return as authorities continue to monitor the situation and assist those who wish to leave affected areas.
