NLEX front court weapons Brandon Ramirez and JB Bahio proved to be too much for Terrafirma as the Road Warriors pulled off a masterful 117-87 win to extend their streak in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Ramirez was unstoppable on the paint and was also a threat from outside, posting 21 points on 2-of-5 shooting from downtown while also grabbing four rebounds, one assist, and steal while Bahio continued to prove his worth wit a double-double outing of 17 markers and 10 boards laced with four dimes and one block.Â
With the tandem leading the way, the Road Warriors captured their fifth win in a row to improve to 5-1. It was the opposite for Dyip, who absorbed their sixth consecutive loss to drop to 1-6.Â
Ramirez and Bahio. got to business early on, dropping 13 and 14 points, respectively, at the half as NLEX soared to a huge 63-44 cushion as Terrafirma misfired in the first two periods with a tough 37.8 shooting percentage.Â
Terrafirma then restored order in the third quarter with Mark Nonoy and Brent Paraiso pulling their side to within 10 at 63-73. NLEX, though, closed out the penultimate frame with a 14-7 blitz to reclaim an 87-70 cushion.Â
Enoch Valdez put the finishing kick for NLEX, scoring all of his nine points in the final frame to help NLEX keep its streak going.Â
Kevin Ferrer dropped 23 points for Terrafirma in the loss while Louie Sangalang posted a double-double of 15 markers and 11 boards.Â
