by Philippine Chronicle

Alexandra “Alex” Eala has a packed schedule until around November as she continues her season following her stint at the Suzhou Open WTA 125.

Eala exited in the quarterfinals of the Suzhou tournament after a hard-fought match against Viktorija Golubic, losing 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(0).

Now, the Filipina tennis ace is set to compete in higher-tier tournaments on the WTA Tour.

Here are her upcoming competitions:

Wuhan Open (WTA 1000)

Eala will compete in the qualifiers for the main draw of the Wuhan Open on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m.

Currently ranked world No. 58, Eala will face Moyuka Uchijima, ranked No. 92.

Only eight spots in the main draw are available for qualifiers.

The tournament will run from October 6 to 12.

Japan Open (WTA 250)

After Wuhan, Eala will head to the Japan Open, where she is part of the main draw. She’ll join familiar names such as Naomi Osaka and Leylah Fernandez.

The tournament will take place from October 13 to 19.

Guangzhou Open (WTA 250)

The 20-year-old Eala is also set to compete in the Guangzhou Open, scheduled from October 20 to 26.

Hong Kong Tennis Open (WTA 250)

Following Guangzhou, Eala will fly to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Tennis Open, happening from October 27 to November 2.

In Hong Kong, she’ll face a competitive field including Fernandez, Osaka, Cristina Bucsa, Emma Raducanu, Victoria Mboko, Clara Tauson — whom she defeated at the US Open — and Maya Joint, her finals opponent in the Eastbourne Open last March.
