MANILA, Philippines — Gerald Anderson said that he is not looking for love after being in a long-term relationship, but he would rather focus on improving himself.
The actor shared his most honest thoughts as a newly single person after his breakup with former longtime girlfriend, actress Julia Barretto.
“It’s been okay. Focus ako ngayon sa growth as a person and building sa career ko and building sa pagkatao ko dahil wala naman sigurong perpektong tao sa mundo,” Gerald said during the press conference yesterday.
“Being single right now, I’m taking time talaga to absorb, pag-aralan kung ano pa pwede kong i-improve bilang isang tao,” he added.
When asked if he is looking forward to his next relationship, Gerald answered, “I have to be the best possible person bago ako pumasok sa relationship.”
ABS-CBN’s talent agency, Star Magic, confirmed that Gerald and Julia have parted ways last September.
The talent agency said that Gerald and Julia “have mutually decided to end their relationship.”
“We request the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives,” the statement added.
Julia and Gerald confirmed their relationship in 2021 after years of dating rumors.
