MANILA, Philippines — The result of the freshly concluded Miss Universe 2025 drew strong reactions on social media, including TV host and box-office actor Vice Ganda.

Vice, whose noontime show “It’s Showtime” airs right after the final’s telecast, was actively tweeting on X (formerly Twitter).

Many of his Miss Universe 2025 tweets mentioned the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo and Cote d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yace.

“Sapat. Tumpak. Tusok. Wagi,” Vice said, pertaining to Ahtisa’s answer to her questions.

“Cote d’Ivoire lang kalaban ni Philippines,” he wrote in another tweet.

“Walang Top 3! Top 2 lang to! Philippines and Cote d’Ivoire.”

In the final question-and-answer portion, Vice described Ahtisa’s answer as “Smart. Specific. Authentic. Clear.”

“Tama ‘yan Cote d’Ivoire pakabahin mo kami. Para mas masarap pag inannounce na winner si Philippines!” he said.

Vice then tweeted his disbelief with the result of the pageant, which crowned Mexico’s Fatima Bosch as Miss Universe 2025.

“Ha???!!!!! Quing inaniooooo!!!!” he said.

“Hanggang sa Miss Universe ninakawan n’yo ang Pilipinas! Grabe!!!” he added. “Unacceptable!!!!!”

Vice, however, put in encouraging words for Ahtisa and congratulated her Top 5 finish.

“Philippines let us all CONGRATULATE Ahtisa Manalo!!! She worked hard, performed well and WON it!!!!”

Catriona Gray has a pointed question on her Instagram broadcast channel.

“But also…? Wala na bang bearing ng Q&A sa MU?” she wrote with a sad face and broken heart emojis.

Catriona and Ahtisa were batchmates in the 2018 edition of Binibining Pilipinas. Catriona went on to win the Philippines’ fourth Miss Universe crown in the same year.

Social media users have similar sentiments, mostly expressing disappointment at the result. Many of them expected either Cote d’Ivoire and Venezuela to win the crown after the two rounds of question-and-answer. Many of them also noted how Ahtisa should have placed higher than her third place finish.
