Foreign reinforcements of teams competing in the PVL Reinforced Conference are now allowed to play after their International Transfer Certificates (ITCs) were signed and activated on Wednesday.
The development was confirmed a day after ZUS Coffee’s Anna DeBeer, Akari’s Annie Mitchem, Choco Mucho’s Anyse Smith, and Capital1’s Oleksandra Bytsenko missed their opening matches when the conference kicked off on Tuesday.
The ITCs are required by the FIVB for foreign athletes to compete internationally. Playing without them could result in sanctions and affect a player’s international eligibility, according to the PVL website.
Meanwhile, the ITC transfer of Choco Mucho’s Tia Andaya is still being processed, causing her to miss the team’s first match.
In the opening day games, Choco Mucho defeated Capital1, while ZUS Coffee outlasted Akari.
