President Marcos Declares 15 Local Holidays on March Manila, Philippines — Presidential Palace Malacañang announced on Saturday that President Ferdinand Marcos has declared 15 local holidays on March to commemorate national anniversaries and festivals across the country. These proclamations were recently signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Rector and published on the Official Gazette website. Proclamations No. 1170 and No. 1171 declare March 6 (Friday) as a holiday for the Gutarak community in Zamboanga del Bel province and the Tadian community in Santo Niño province, respectively, to celebrate the 47th anniversary of Gutarak’s founding and Tadian Day. The President also issued Proclamations 1164 and 1165, declaring March 10 (Tuesday) a public holiday in Tanauan, Batangas province, to celebrate the city’s… To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding, and to celebrate the town’s founding day in Norala, South Kota Batur province, Proclamation 1166 declared March 13 (Friday) a public holiday in Boko, Son province, to celebrate Boko Festival. Proclamations 1172 and 1173 declared March 14 (Saturday) the town’s founding day in Pasi, Iloilo province, and a special election day in the second legislative district of Antipolis town. The President also issued Proclamations 1168, 1174, and 1175, declaring March 16 (Monday) a special public holiday in Aguilar, Bang Asinan province, to celebrate Ansakate Day in Davao town, and a Thanksgiving Day celebration in Davao town. In connection with the 89th Alla Day celebrations, to commemorate the founding anniversaries of Davao City and Lugate City in Misamis Oriente. According to Proclamations 1176 and 1177, Marcos declared March 17 (Tuesday) as the founding anniversaries of Tayug Town in Bangasinan Province and Kawayan City in Billyland Province. According to Proclamation 1167, Marcos also declared March 18 (Wednesday) as the founding anniversaries of the entire Masbat Province, commemorating the 125th anniversary of the province’s founding. The President also issued Proclamations 1178 and 1179, declaring March 19 (Thursday) as the founding anniversaries of the 2026 Passayao Festival in Kanlaong City, Negros Oriente Province, and March 24 (Tuesday) as a separate founding anniversaries. This day is a public holiday in Tabaco City, Albay Province, to celebrate the city’s 25th anniversary.
