Shai Omipon led the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA past San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 25-23, 28-30, 25-16, 25-21, in the NCAA Season 100 women’s volleyball tournament on Friday at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Sports and Cultural Center.

Omipon had another stellar outing as she registered 23 points built on 21 attacks and two aces, to go with 14 points, as the Lady ALTAs improved to 9-5.

After stumbling in the second set, the Las Piñas-based crew then recovered as it dominated San Sebastian in the third set.

The fourth set, however, showed how the Lady Stags powered through as they went neck-and-neck against Perpetual with the set tied at 16. However, Winnie Bedaña and Omipon’s attacks put them in front, 18-16, before they pulled away, 24-17. Kath Santos, Geraldine Palacio, and Juna Gonzales, however, salvaged four match points before Omipon sealed the victory.

Aside from Omipon, Palacio and Camille Bustamante stepped up with 15 and 13 points, respectively, while Bedaña had 14 points.

Gonzales had 21 points, while Divine Garcia had 18 points for the Lady Stags who slipped to 7-8.

Perpetual will play Arellano University on Sunday, while San Sebastian will go against Mapua University on Tuesday.
