NU bounces back, overcomes Adamson

National University returned to the win column after escaping Adamson University, 56-54, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The win came after NU lost to the University of the Philippines 

The Soaring Falcons led 52-41 with under six minutes remaining but the Bulldogs made a 15-2 run to take the win.

In that run, Jake Figueroa made the last six points to hand the victory to NU.

Figueroa had 17 points, three assists, three steals, two blocks, and two rebounds, while Jolo Manansala and Gelo Santiago had nine points apiece as NU improved to 4-1.

Ced Manzano, meanwhile, led Adamson with 16 points, while OJ Ojarikre grabbed 11 boards on top of making eight points in the losing effort as the Soaring Falcons slipped to 1-4.
