MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared eight special non-working days across six municipalities and two cities to mark local founding anniversaries and festivals, Malacañang said.
Proclamation 1088 to 1095 were all signed on Nov. 12, 2025, by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin “by authority of the President,” according to the Palace.
Under the new directives:
- November 20 is a special non-working day in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental for the municipality’s founding anniversary.
- November 29 is a special non-working day in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, in celebration of the Badak Festival or Adlaw sa Aurora.
- December 1 is a special non-working day in Cainta, Rizal, for its founding anniversary and the Sumbingtik Festival.
- December 9 is a special non-working day in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, to mark its founding anniversary.
- December 18 is a special non-working day in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, for the city’s Charter anniversary.
- December 23 is a special non-working day in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, for its 25th Charter anniversary.
- December 23 is also a special non-working day in Sto. Niño, South Cotabato, for its 45th founding anniversary and the 26th Hinublag Festival.
- December 23 is likewise a special non-working day in Mayantoc, Tarlac, for the municipality’s founding anniversary.
Malacañang issues such proclamations yearly to allow communities to mark milestones, historical events and cultural festivities.
