Colegio de San Juan de Letran defeated Jose Rizal University, 62–52, in the NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball tournament on Friday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.

After holding a slim 35–33 lead at halftime, the Squires pulled away in the third period, outscoring the Light Bombers 21–10 to take a 56–43 advantage.

In the fourth quarter, Letran managed to hold off JRU despite being limited to just six points, while the Mandaluyong-based squad scored nine.

Harvey Macadangdang led Letran with 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block, and was the only double-digit scorer for the young men from Intramuros. Gilas Pilipinas Youth member and transferee Nickson Cabañero, formerly from University of Santo Tomas, had two points in his debut.

Justine Laxamana tallied 12 points, while Khellian Taparan added 10 for JRU.
