MANILA, Philippines — Actor Raymart Santiago personally broke his silence regarding Claudine Barretto’s mother Inday revelations that he allegedly abused the actress.
Legal representatives had already released a statement on behalf of the actor on the matter but Raymart himself addressed the allegations in a series of Instagram stories.
“Kahit mas matimbang sa akin na manahimik na lang, siguro ay kailangan ko rin ilabas kahit paano ang aking saloobin para sa aking kapayapaan,” Raymart began, sharing he mulled over speaking out the past few days.
The actor said he chose to stay quiet on the matter and follow due process the past 13 years, noting difficulties as his name was being muddied by what Raymart described as lies and false accusations.
Still, Raymart knew that keeping quiet was best for his family and children, stresseing he and those who know them well are aware of the truth.
He admitted being shocked by the interview Inday — whom Raymart said he respected, loved, and considered a second mother — had with showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz where she discussed Claudine and Raymart’s relationship at length.

The actor lamented how such people could manage to face the public and embarass their own family.
Raymart acknowledged that his relationship with Claudine wasn’t perfect, but his conscience is clear that he never did what the Barrettos are accusing him of.
He noted that while he and the Barrettos are public figures subject to comments and criticism, Raymart called for everyone to refrain from sharing possibly damaging words that could affect either party, especially of the former couple’s children.
