MANILA, Philippines — For Rajo Laurel, the time is ripe for the return of “Project Runway Philippines.”

The celebrated designer reopened his eponymous The Rajo Store on October 14 at the second level of the Power Plant Mall in Makati City. It coincides with the launch of the gender-neutral 2025 Collection, which he collaborated on with his sisters Venisse Laurel-Hermano, the brand’s chief operator officer, and renowned makeup artist Gela Laurel-Stehmeier.

At the sidelights of the event, which included a fashion show at Rockwell The Fifth, Rajo, the ever-engaging subject, also shared his thoughts on his other exciting venture — as a judge in “Project Runway Philippines (PRP).”

“PRP” seasons 1 and 2 aired in 2008 and 2009, season 3 in 2012, and season 4 in 2015. Veejay Floresca, the current winner of the flagship “Project Runway” in the United States was in the original cast, placing third overall.

With Floresca’s victory in the flagship US show, does Rajoi think it is ripe for a revival of “Project Runway Philippines”?

“Absolutely! I think the Philippine fashion industry is experiencing almost like a renaissance of creativity. We do have this resurgence of incredibly creative individuals and I think it’s about time that ‘Project Runway Philippines’ is revived. So, please call me whoever is producing it. I am ready, willing and able,” replied Rajo.
