In case you missed it, Apple has recently unveiled the latest iPad Pro featuring the new M5 Chip. It is available in 11-inch and 13-inch models.
The new iPad Pro M5 sports an ultra-thin body with a depth of 5.3mm for the 11-inch model and a 5.1mm depth for the 13-inch variant. Meanwhile, it weighs 444 grams and 579 grams for the 11-inch and 13-inch models, respectively.
At the front, it features Apple’s Tandem OLED Ultra Retina XDR with 1,600 nits HDR peak brightness, 10-120Hz ProMotion, P3-color, True Tone, and a Nano-Texture glass option.
Camera-wise, it comes with a 12MP f/1.8 Wide camera with 4K ProRes at 30fps video recording and 5x zoom, while upfront is a Landscaper 12MP Center Stage TrueDepth front camera.
Powering the latest iPad Pro is the new M5 chip with up to 10 cores and 16GB Unified Memory with over 150GB/s memory bandwidth (compared to M4’s 120GB/s bandwidth).
The 10-core GPU also introduces a new architecture with a Neural Accelerator in each core, boosting GPU performance for AI workloads. It also has a third-generation ray-tracing engine with up to 1.5x faster 3D rendering. The 16-core Neural Engine gets energy-efficient performance and 3.5x faster AI image generation.
The chip is paired with up to 2TB internal storage and packs a 31.29Wh (11-inch) and 38.99Wh (13-inch) battery with 40W fast charging via USB-C.
For connectivity, the new iPad Pro is equipped with Apple’s new N1 networking chip with WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. The cellular models of iPad Pro feature a C1X modem, which supposedly delivers up to 50 percent faster cellular performance and up to 30 percent less energy usage than the previous generation.
Other features include Face ID, LiDAR, gyro, and a Thunderbolt/USB 4 port. It also supports the Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil USB-C, and the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro.
