MANILA, Philippines — Finance services GCash and Western Union are teaming up this holiday season by removing transfer fees for those sending money from Hawaii to the Philippines.

This partnership is in recognition of Overseas Filipinos in Hawaii who send money back home as their love language, to aid monthly expenses, celebrate a birthday, or mark a special milestone.

The collaboration eases the burden by ensuring every dollar sent reaches home without any additional payment.

“It’s a special promotion designed to bolster support for the vibrant Filipino community in Hawaii as they, in turn, support their families back home,” said GCash International’s general manager Paul Albano in a statement.

Albano added that “supporting the Filipino community means helping every hard-earned dollar make a difference.”

The promo involving GCash and Western Union — applicable at Western Union stores across Hawaii or via the GCash app — runs until the end of the year, December 31.
