MANILA, Philippines — Actresses Ellen Adarna and Sarah Lahbati both laughed off claims by showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz that the latter was involved in an alleged split between Ellen and husband Derek Ramsay.
Last October 24, Ogie uploaded a video on his “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update” YouTube channel where he and co-host Mama Loi Villarama discussued Derek being absent from the first birthday party of Liana, his daughter with Ellen.
Compounding the breakup rumors was Ellen taking off the Ramsay surname from her Instagram name which now just reads Maria Ellen Adarna.
Ogie repeated supposed talks that Ellen and Derek may have indeed split but reiterated it was up to the couple to confirm if there was any truth to it, sharing how much of a fan he was of their relationship.
One alleged reason behind the breakup, reported Ogie, was Ellen — with the help of Sarah — asking Derek to purchase a new house in a posh subdivision but a hefty pricetag brought up doubts.
The showbiz reporter explained that Sarah was playing agent to the couple and in doing so would receive a commission if a purchase was made.
Ogie’s source said that Ellen supposedly wants to leave their current house as Derek’s ex and fellow actress Andrea Torres had previously lived there.
A couple of days after the video went up, Ellen reposted on her Instagram story a conversation she had with Sarah poking fun at Ogie’s report.
Sarah had sent Ellen a link with a clip of the former’s alleged agent status for Ellen to buy a house as well as claims that Sarah was the reason for Ellen and Derek’s split, which the Ellen found humorous.
“Loooollll since when were u a house agent???!! Looooll ahahahahhah i kennot with these people,” Ellen replied to Sarah. “Omg im laughing anooong chismis eto ahahahahhahahahhahahhhha.”
Ellen then Ogie’s handle to direct a message toward him, “Mama Og… claruhin lang natin… pag sure sa imong source. Tawang tawa kami [ni] Sarah sayo. Laro ka.”
The actress pointed out that if she wanted to buy a house she could do it herself, quipping that Sarah isn’t a house agent and doesn’t have such talent in her skill set.
“Ano na?!! Grabe ang remix ng stories kklk,” Ellen ended with several laughing emojis scattered throughout.
Sarah reposted Ellen’s Instagram story, writing with text of her own, “Every Sunday may hanash while I mind my own business hahahaha.”
Ellen and Derek however have yet to directly state if they have indeed broken up though they’ve denied claims they are at odds with each other, meanwhile Sarah is finalizing her annulment with Richard Gutierrez.
