Easy recipe: Chocolate Mousse Cake

MANILA, Philippines — Chocolate cakes come in different forms, including old-fashioned Chocolate Cake and creamy Chocolate Mousse Cake.

The chocolate itself can come in milk chocolate or dark chocolate variants. Adults these days prefer dark chocolate because it is not too sweet and also has health benefits.

No matter what your preferences are, Chef Jackie Ang Po has got the perfect, easy-to-follow, and oh-so-delicious recipe that will surely come in handy whenever you crave for Chocolate Mousse Cake. No need to keep making those sweet-tooth trips to the bakeshop. You can make even better Chocolate Mousse Cake at home.

Chocolate Mousse Cake

Ingredients:

160 grams chocolate cake crumbs

200 grams dark chocolate compound, chopped

2 packs Nestlé All Purpose Cream

2 tbsps. Carnation Condensada

Cocoa powder for garnish

Procedure:

1. Melt together dark chocolate and 1 pack Nestlé All Purpose Cream double boiler style (in a bowl over a pan of steaming water) until chocolate is completely melted.

2. Chill 1/2 cup until it is just set but still soft. For the rest of the chocolate mousse, let it rest and chill completely.

3. Beat the other pack of Nestlé All Purpose Cream with Carnation Condensada.

4. Fold in the 1/2 cup chocolate ganache.

5. For the rest of the chocolate ganache that has been chilled, beat until fluffy.

6. Assemble. Make a layer of cake at the bottom of the pan. Pipe chocolate mousse on top. Top with chocolate ganache. Sift cocoa powder over the surface for garnish.
