LUBAO, Pampanga, Philippines — Zach Castro lastly laid declare to a long-elusive crown, delivering a blistering end to seize the ICTSI Pradera Verde Intercollegiate Tour leg in dramatic style yesterday.
The La Salle-1 standout birdied his ultimate two holes, together with a pressure-packed end on the par-4 eighth and the closing ninth of the Pinatubo format for a five-under 67 for a two-stroke win over clubhouse chief Sean Granada (69).
After two shut calls – a runner-up end in Spherical 1 at Royal Northwoods and a joint fifth-place effort at Splendido Taal – Castro wasn’t going to be denied a 3rd time within the four-round Tour co-developed by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc. and the Philippine Golf Basis.
“It’s all about perspective,” stated Castro, reflecting on his efficiency. “I stayed composed even when the putts weren’t falling. I simply saved it easy – hit the fairways, hit the greens. I do know the putts will drop ultimately.”
