Alex Eala ousts Nicole Fossa Huergo to succeed in Guadalajara 125 semis

Alex Eala defeated Italy’s Nicole Fossa Huergo, 7-6(2), 6-2, within the quarterfinals of the Guadalajara 125 Open early Friday morning (Philippine time) to guide a spot within the match’s semifinals.

The win got here simply hours after Eala prevailed over American Varvara Lepchenko in their Round of 16 match, which resumed earlier that day after being suspended Thursday due to inclement weather.

After a good first set that went to a tiebreak, Eala managed to carry off her 30-year-old opponent en path to victory.

Eala will face American Kayla Day within the semifinals on Saturday.

Within the Spherical of 32, Eala defeated Arianne Hartono.
