Manila, Philippines – The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has ordered all Airport Police (APD) personnel to vacate their offices within the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals.
In a letter dated February 23, 2026, MIAA Director Eric Jose Ines instructed all APD units currently stationed in Terminals 1, 2, and 3 to relocate to the APD headquarters located near Terminal 2.
This move is part of an operational handover to the new NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC), scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2026.
Ines stated that the office space currently occupied by MIAA police units will be used by the private consortium to optimize terminal management.
To ensure continued passenger flow, the memorandum instructs security to establish a temporary office within the terminal specifically for receiving reports and complaints.
Airport Police Department (APD) personnel will continue to perform their duties of patrolling, investigation, and traffic control.
The memorandum also requires the removal and relocation of all lockers, furniture, documents, and office equipment to Airport Police Department headquarters.
The Airport Police Department (APD) was established under the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), which was established by Executive Order No. 778 signed by President Ferdinand E. Marcos on March 4, 1982.
