Filipino-American pop star Olivia Rodrigo has officially announced her third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” set for release on June 12. The Grammy-winning singer shared the news on Friday, April 3, via her social media, writing:

“My third album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ is out June 12th. I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

While the tracklist has yet to be revealed, fans have already begun speculating about the album’s artistic inspiration.

The cover features Rodrigo upside-down on a swing in a pink dress, which many have noted bears a striking resemblance to The Swing, a 1767 Rococo painting by French artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard.

Interestingly, Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend, actor Louis Partridge, recently shared an image of the same painting on his Instagram account, sparking further chatter online.

“You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” will arrive nearly three years after her 2023 album “GUTS,” following her 2021 debut “SOUR.”

Both of her previous albums shared a signature four-letter title style, but the new record marks a shift in Rodrigo’s visual direction, moving away from the purple-themed aesthetic fans associated with her earlier era.

As anticipation builds, fans are eager to hear how Rodrigo’s sound and visuals have evolved in this latest chapter of her career. Preorders for the album are now available.
