Washington calls China’s actions in South China Sea ‘reckless’ following Philippine accusation

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller calls China’s actions in the South China Sea “reckless” after the Philippine government on Monday accused Chinese ships of ramming and damaging its boats during a confrontation in waters off the Second Thomas Shoal, home to a garrison of Filipino troops. “We stand by our Philippine allies,” the spokesperson adds.
