Heavy traffic expected: Road closures list for 3-day INC rally

MANILA, Philippines — Motorists are urged to plan and take alternative routes as major roads in Manila will be closed from November 16 to 18 due to a three-day Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally.

The Manila Public Information Office said the closures began at 12 a.m. on November 16, affecting multiple roads around Luneta Park, Intramuros, and the Roxas Boulevard area.

Roads closed around Luneta, Intramuros, Roxas Blvd.

• Roxas Blvd. (Southbound): From Katigbak Drive to P. Quirino Ave.
• Roxas Blvd. (Northbound): From Quirino Ave. to P. Burgos Ave.
• Bonifacio Drive: Both lanes from Anda Circle to P. Burgos Ave.
• Avenues and Streets: Katigbak Drive, South Drive, Independence Road, and Maria Orosa St. (from U.N. Ave. to P. Burgos Ave.).
• Kalaw Ave. (East & Westbound): From Taft Ave. to Roxas Blvd.
• P. Burgos Ave. (East & Westbound): From Taft Ave. to Roxas Blvd.
• Finance Road Stretch: From Taft Ave. to P. Burgos Ave.
• Mabini St.: From Kalaw Ave. to U.N. Ave.
• Palacio St. and Gen. Luna St.

Rerouting in the Luneta area:

• From Bridges (Jones, McArthur, Quezon): Use Taft Avenue to their destination.
• Ayala Blvd. Traffic (Intending to use Finance Road): Turn right to P. Burgos Ave.
• U.N. Ave. (Westbound): Turn left to M.H. del Pilar St. or Roxas Blvd. Service Road.
• Mel Lopez Blvd. (Light Vehicles): Take Anda Circle, then turn right to A. Soriano Ave.
• Heavy Vehicles (Pasay/Roxas Blvd. Northbound): Turn right to Pres. Quirino Ave.

Chino Roces Bridge (Mendiola) closures

• C.M. Recto Ave. Stretch: From N. Reyes St. to Mendiola St.
• Legarda St. Stretch: From Figueras St. to San Rafael St.

Rerouting in Mendiola:

• From Quezon Blvd. and C.M. Recto Ave. (Intending to use Mendiola St.): Turn left to N. Reyes St.
• From Sta. Mesa via Legarda St. (Intending to use C.M. Recto Ave.): Turn right to Figueras St., straight to Earnshaw St., then turn left to S.H. Loyola St.

Liwasang Bonifacio Closure

• Magallanes Drive Stretch: From Jones Bridge to McArthur Bridge is closed.

Rerouting:

• From P. Burgos Ave. (Northbound, Intending to use Magallanes Drive): Go straight to Jones Bridge.
• From McArthur Bridge (Intending to use Magallanes Drive): Go straight to P. Burgos Ave. (Southbound) or turn right to Victoria St.

Ayala Bridge closures

• Ayala Bridge is closed.
• Ayala Blvd. (Eastbound): From San Marcelino St. to Romualdez St.

Rerouting:

• From Romualdez St.: Turn left to Ayala Blvd., then turn right to Taft Ave., OR go straight to N. Lopez St.
• From San Marcelino St. (Intending to use Ayala Bridge): Turn right to Ayala Blvd., then turn right to Taft Ave., OR go straight along San Marcelino St., then turn left to U.N. Avenue.
