Filipino author Mae Coyiuto is counting down the days to the release of her latest young adult novel, Goodbye and Everything After, set to hit bookshelves on February 17, 2026.
Sharing the book cover on Instagram, Coyiuto wrote, “I’m so in love with this cover––and equally in love with the fact that an artist from home brought these characters to life.” She also expressed gratitude to artist Ivee, designer Mallory Grigg, and the Fierce Reads team for helping turn her vision into reality.
The novel tells the story of Nika, a young woman grappling with the loss of her father five years earlier.
When her mother’s new fiancé unexpectedly shows up at the cemetery, Nika walks away in anger, breaking the Filipino superstition of pagpag. The next day, she comes face-to-face with her father’s ghost, setting the stage for a tender tale of grief, family, and first love.
Described as “a contemporary young adult novel that tackles grief, family tension, and first love,” Goodbye and Everything After blends Filipino cultural traditions with a coming-of-age story that promises to resonate with young readers.
Coyiuto, also the author of Chloe and the Kaishao Boys, admitted she is still “freaking out” over the reveal, calling the moment a dream come true. The book is now available for pre-order via the link in her Instagram bio.
