Arellano University rode on a balanced attack to pull off a 92-61 thrashing of San Sebastian College-Recoletos and barge into the win column of NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
The Braves vented their ire on the Staglets following a narrow 83-80 loss to Mapua last Saturday, improving to 1-1 in Group A while San Sebatian fell to a 0-2 card.
Unlike in their previous outing against the Red Robins where they squandered a double-digit lead in a narrow three-point loss, the Braves made sure there was no collapse this time, unleashing a flurry of baskets in the middle quarters to pull away for good.
Chris Dy led the charge with a near triple-double effort of 18 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds while Ray Ladica churned out 16 markers and four dimes.
Sean Franco and John Baluyot, whose three-pointer gave Arellano a 69-50 lead to end the third, both chipped in 12 points with the former also grabbing eight boards and two steals.
San Sebastian, which was 23-of-82 from the field, leaned on Khazier Castillo’s 12 points and Browyn Tepan’s 11.
