GCash announced through their Facebook page that beginning October 1, 2025, all wallet cash-ins will be processed through InstaPay, the Philippines’ real-time fund transfer system.
The move follows a directive from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) requiring digital platforms to standardize transactions under InstaPay.
Unlike before, when GCash relied on its own direct bank connections for cash-ins, the new system will now process these through InstaPay. This aligns GCash with digital banks, which have long used InstaPay and PESONet for fund transfers.

According to GCash, there will be no extra charges for direct cash-ins under this new setup.
However, users should check with their banks, as some partner institutions may adjust their own service fees.

It took some time for GCash to fully shift to InstaPay, but the change is expected to make cash-ins faster, safer, and more affordable. What do you think?
