MANILA, Philippines — Singer-actor Ok Taec-yeon, better known as Taecyeon of the K-pop group 2PM, will be tying the knot with his non-showbiz girlfriend who he’s been dating for some time.

Taecyeon’s agency 51K released a statement confirming that the artist would be getting married in a private Seoul location next year during the springtime.

Because his partner is not a celebrity, the agency asked for the public’s understanding in not releasing further details.

“Taecyeon has promised to spend the rest of his life with his partner whom he has been dating for a long time,” 51K said. “Even after his marriage, he plans to greet you with good projects and a wide variety of activities. We ask that you continue to give him your love and support.”

The artist later posted a handwritten letter on Instagram thanking fans for being there for him ever since 2PM debuted back in 2008 and felt like he owed them an explanation for the big news.

“I have promised to spend the rest of my life with one person who has understood and trusted me for a long time,” Taecyeon wrote in Korean. “We plan to walk the path of life together while becoming pillars of support for one another in the future.”

Taecyeon again thanks fans for their support in molding the person he was today, “You don’t know how much strength your love and support has given me, to the extent where I can’t fully express it in words alone.”

He vowed to continue repaying fans’ love and trust as an actor, with 2PM, and as Taecyeon, ending with well wishes for everyone’s health.

The singer-actor went public with his relationship in 2020, and earlier this year 51K debunked rumors that he had already proposed following viral pictures in Paris.

Apart from his time with 2PM, Taecyeon is also known for starring in shows like “Vincenzo,” “Heartbeat,” “Cinderella’s Stepsister,” “Blind,” “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” and most recently “The First Night with the Duke.”
