Macron names ally Sébastien Lecornu as new French PM

President Emmanuel Macron has named shut ally Sébastien Lecornu as new French prime minister, 24 hours after a vote of confidence ousted François Bayrou as head of his authorities.

Lecornu was among the many favourites to take over the job, and in a press release the Elysée Palace mentioned he had been given the duty of consulting political events with the purpose of adopting France’s subsequent price range.

Bayrou had visited the president hours earlier at hand in his resignation, paving the best way for Lecornu to develop into the fifth prime minister of Macron’s second time period as president.
