Lady Blazers closer to Final 4

MANILA, Philippines — St. Benilde overpowered San Beda, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18, yesterday to move a step closer to the NCAA Season 100 women’s volleyball Final Four at the EAC Gym.

It was the fifth straight victory and 12th in 14 outings for the four-peat feat-seeking Lady Blazers, who moved one win away from joining the Letran Lady Knights in the semis.

Interestingly, CSB is bracing for its much-awaited rematch with Letran set Wednesday in a showdown that many believed will be a sneak preview to this year’s finale.

“We’re looking forward to playing them,” said CSB coach Onyok Getigan, whose charges fell to the Lady Knights in the first round that ended their magnificent 43-game win streak.
