Philippines Rain Forecast: Two Weather Systems Bring Showers

Rainy Weather Expected Across the Philippines as Two Systems Move In

Most parts of the Philippines are set to experience rain on Thursday, June 19, as two different weather systems influence the country’s conditions. According to the state weather bureau, an Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring showers and thunderstorms to Southern Mindanao, while winds from the east are expected to affect the rest of the country.

A low-pressure area was spotted early Wednesday morning about 360 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union. Forecasters say this system is not likely to develop into a tropical depression within the next day and should not directly impact local weather.

For residents in the Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Surigao del Sur, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and occasional thunderstorms due to the convergence zone. People in these areas are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods and landslides, especially if rainfall becomes moderate to heavy.

In Aurora and Quezon, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected, thanks to the easterly winds. For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the forecast is partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Even in these areas, sudden downpours could still result in flooding or landslides, particularly in vulnerable locations.

Everyone is encouraged to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and take necessary precautions as needed.
