MANILA, Philippines — Gotianun-led East West Banking Corp., in partnership with Visa, has rolled out a new business banking solution designed to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) manage their finances with greater ease, efficiency and control.

With 99 percent of businesses in the Philippines classified as SMEs, EastWest said it has launched the BizAccess Visa Debit to support entrepreneurs who handle multiple responsibilities daily.

The new platform aims to simplify money management by separating business from personal funds, tracking transactions in real time and providing digital tools to streamline operations.

“SMEs are the backbone of the Philippine economy and we’re proud to give them the tools they need to thrive,” EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo said during the launch event yesterday.

“BizAccess goes beyond being a debit card. It’s a business partner that helps entrepreneurs manage finances easily, securely and confidently, so they can focus on what matters most: growing their business,” he said.

At the core of the BizAccess package is its debit card, which allows entrepreneurs to securely manage everyday business transactions, including purchases, supplier payments and other expenses. Business owners can issue up to 10 cards to their staff to monitor team expenses and track spending under a single account.

The card also comes with travel accident insurance, transaction alerts and access to exclusive Visa promos and rewards for SME clients. New users enjoy a welcome offer and waived over-the-counter fees for deposits and withdrawals.

“Visa is delighted to partner with EastWest in empowering Filipino entrepreneurs,” Sid Bada, head of clients at Visa Philippines, said.

“With BizAccess, SMEs gain access to trusted and convenient payment solutions that simplify how they operate while also opening opportunities to participate in Visa’s global network of offers and rewards designed to help businesses grow,” he said.

Each BizAccess card is linked to a BizAccess checking account that requires a minimum maintaining balance of P25,000. Entrepreneurs can manage this account through EasyBiz Online Business Banking, a platform that allows them to view balances, monitor transactions, pay suppliers and oversee cash flow anytime and anywhere.

EasyBiz also supports payments for government contributions via eGov, corporate bills and other essential business transactions. For added control and security, users can lock and unlock cards directly through the platform.

During the launch event, EastWest and Visa recognized several business clients that exemplify Filipino innovation and enterprise, including Aficionado, Bosch Car Service, Colombo Merchant Philippines, Kenzo and Kloe’s Nature Farm as well as Nacho King.
