Delicious Dulce de Leche Dessert recipe

MANILA, Philippines — Ducle de leche is yummy when used in desserts, but it is a bit complicated to make as it involves a whole can of condensed milk slow-boiled in a pan for hours and then carefully opened.

The threat of having a can burst while working on it and cooling it down is always there, so better not attempt to make dulce de leche at all.

But now, Chef Jackie Ang Po teaches how to make dulce de leche from a can of condensed milk in a pressure cooker, so one can finally be proud to make and enjoy it in a simple, easy-to-make but oh-so-delicious cake.

Here’s how to make Dulce de Leche Banoffee, as Chef Jackie put together for Nestlé.

Dulce De Leche Banoffee

Ingredients:

  • 120 grams of Biscoff Cookies
  • 2/3 cup of Carnation Dulce de Leche
  • 4-5 pcs. of banana slices
  • 1 pack of Nestlé All Purpose Cream
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tsps. of vanilla
  • Chocolate shavings

Procedure:

  1. Make Dulce de Leche using Carnation Condensada.
    1. Submerge can of condensed milk in water in a pressure cooker.
    2. Close lid and lock in place to seal in pressure.
    3. Cook over medium heat for 1 hour.
    4. Release pressure by touching the pressure button before opening.

  2. Arrange a layer of cookies in the bottom of a container.
  3. Add 1/3 cup Dulce de Leche, then top with banana slices.
  4. Beat very, very cold Nestlé All Purpose Cream with powdered sugar and vanilla.
  5. Scoop into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe onto cake in container.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkling of chocolate shavings.
